I'd heard from a few different people that Luqa and Petrus, the downtown restaurant and lounge (and accompanying rooftop garden), were having money problems... bands supposedly were not getting paid, promoters were pulling out. Now comes this story that the owner has filed for bankruptcy. (Ch. 11 reorganization.) He's also filing suit against Dallas City Council members alleging racial descrimination.

I've only been to Petrus a handful of times, but I liked it there. The patio had nice views and the lounge was dark and comfortable. Pricey drinks, plush sofas, all that.

There's a party at Petrus this Sunday if you want to check it out. Not sure how much longer it's going to be around, now with the Luqa chef having jumped ship.
