We've got tonight: 7-28
Still recovering from all the beers I drank at a fantastic Whittenburg-Smile-Salim-Rollins show at Sons of Hermann last night. All the acts were on top of their respective games. J.D.'s new band sounded solid (but looked a li'l nervous). Ryan and Jencey in Smile Smile played a handful of new songs ("The Attic" is a fave). Salim's set was surprisingly upbeat. I drank lots of Red Stripe [pause to take one more chewable Motrin].
Can that great night be rivaled? There are a couple of options in Dallas:
- Bobgoblin and the Happy Bullets at Double Wide.
-The Party dudes welcome Pase Rock to the Green Elephant.
Denton may have us beat this evenin', though:
-- One of the Denton bands on the bill at Dan's is RTB2, whose music is a stunning combo of soul, country and rock. It's one of the most underrated acts in the area, if y'ask me.
--Too-cute-for-words touring band Bishop Allen heads up a buzzworthy show at Hailey's.
--And last but not least, you can throw down five bones at Rubba Gloves to see Bob White and the F-Electrics, 2MAI, the Demigs and Record Hop. I keep hearing rumblings of how uh-mazing the Hop's new tracks are. Why isn't there a leetle taste on MySpace? Trying to be patient ...

Comments
Thanks for coming to the release show, Hunter.
"Nervous" is an understatement for how I was feeling Friday night. So glad that first live show is out of the way.
