Score 1 for the humans...sort of

Last week, scientists figured out a way to always win at checkers. Their next conquest was poker, in a Man vs. Machine tournament. The tournament pitted pros Ali Eslami and Phil "The Unabomber" Laak, aka Jennifer Tilly's boyfriend, against two computer opponents, Mr. Pink and Agent Orange.

Man came out on top in this one, but Laak said the bots are "closing in." An MSNBC blog has an interesting account of the tournament and how the pros defeated the computer program.
