Hip garage sale alert!
This ain't no classified-ad blog, but I couldn't resist telling you about an exciting garage sale happening on Saturday. Hella-talented rock 'n' roll (among other things) photographer Allison V. Smith is getting together with other creative types to unload a bunch of good stuff.
Smith told me more about the sale (8 a.m. Saturday at 6026 Goliad Ave.) in a MySpace message:
"[It's being put on by] my friends William Baker (of Dolly Python & Uncommon Objects in austin) and Erin Piper, who used to have a vintage clothing store in Waxahachie. Brian Harkin, photographer, will be selling some of his prints. I will be selling prints and 'zines and stuff. Some camera bags and photo geek related things."
Smith also said she'd be selling a few of the remaining copies of her new photo 'zine for $20 a pop. I haven't picked one up yet, but I've heard good things.
If you can't make the sale, get the 'zine at Murray Street Coffee Shop. And if you can, don't go near my pile, because I'll have to cut you.

Dude!! I am soooo there. Wanna go together? I really don't have room for much more stuff in my house, but this sounds like too good an opportunity to pass up.

Yes! I'll probably go there around 8 or 9. I'm hardcore like that (raised by parents who were garage-sale fiends). Coffee will be necessary.

Yay! Can't wait to scoop up some finds. We'll see if I can manage to get out of bed by 8...
