I've got two good options:

1. Super Tuesday at Carson's Live. Several of the city's biggest urban-entertainment promoters throw this bash every month, so you know it's gonna go off. (These are the dudes that put on Fridays at the Daiquiri Dump, Thursdays at M Bar, Saturdays at Maxwell's and Sundays at Nine7Two.) Plus there's a free buffet from 5 to 9 p.m., and it's only $5 before 8 p.m. Guessing probably $10 after that. Francis Jaye and Steve Nice in the mix, and the Mavs game on TV.

2. Havana NRG! Rooftop Party at Petrus Lounge. The local salsa band will jam out at Petrus' rooftop gardens from 6 to 10. Then the LatinoParty.com's bringing in a DJ until 2. There's no cover and it's 21-plus only. If you haven't been to the rooftop gardens at Petrus yet, you really should check them out. It's nice.... perfect place to grab a drink after work and unwind.
