A couple of things you won't want to miss at the Dallas Art Dealers Association on April 21.
In the morning, a lecture series titled How Important Are We: Dallas/Fort Worth, the next New York City? Certainly a bold thought.
From 10:30 a.m. to noon, panel one will look at the question from the point of view of curators and directors from the Arlington Museum of Art, SMU Meadows Museum, Nasher Sculpture Center, Dallas Museum of Art, Crow Collection of Asian Art and the Gallery at University of Texas at Arlington. KERA 90.1 FM reporter Catherine Cuellar will moderate.
From 1-2:30 p.m., panel two will look at the question from the point of view of the art critics from the Dallas Morning News, Dallas Observer and Art in America. Architect Thomas Krähenbühl will moderate.
Both panels are at the Latino Cultural Center, 2600 Live Oak St. It's 30 bones for two panels; 20 for one. Call 214-943-1099 to register.
That afternoon, mosey on over to some of the 35 member galleries and non-profit art spaces participating in a gallery walk from 2-8 p.m. Some of the spaces include Bath House Cultural Center, Crow Collection of Asian Art, The Dallas Contemporary, Ice House Cultural Center, Latino Cultural Center, The McKinney Avenue Contemporary (The MAC), Pan American Art Gallery and Photographs Do Not Bend Gallery.
The next one of these walks is not until September and they're always free.

Comments
This will also be Kettle Arts first time to take part officially in the Dallas Art Dealers Association's Artwalk. What I find uncanny is that the event takes place on 4/ 21/ 07 and we just happen to have four pieces each by 21 artists, go figure! Hope to see you all out and about for this event.
